Stopping by from the Blogelina class. My husband I used to spend over $100 a week on groceries. Then one day I realized that we were putting groceries on our credit cards and that’s when I knew it was time to cut the grocery bill. I started doing more coupons and shopping at various stores for needed items. Now I have a stock pile, where I only have to buy a few items a week and I budget $250 for groceries a month for the two of us. Meal planning really does help and saves from eating out. Also, items that serve four people, try freezing the other portions for another night for an easy dinner. Love the blog by the way.
It’s awesome that you managed to cut your budget in half! I’m hoping to eventually get our budget way way down like that. I need to pay more attention to coupons and get better at using the sales papers.
And yeah, now that I know the recipes make enough for four (note to self: check for number of servings before blindly buying ingredients), I’ll be sure to freeze some so that meals are easy when we need them to be.
